You want to swap a GY6 150cc motor into your stock Honda Ruckus in hopes of going 60+mph on your small two wheeled machine.  So how do you do that?  The GY6 150cc does not simply bolt onto the stock ruckus frame.  You need a motor mount that will create a mounting point on the stock frame that will allow a GY6 motor to be bolted onto the Ruck.  This is where the Small Fast Things GY6 Swap Mount Kit comes in.

The 50cc Honda Ruckus is a incredible machine.  Purpose built and made to last, it is by far one of the best selling scooter of all time.  Though super reliable and relatively low maintenance, in this article we will discuss some tried and trued techniques to help maximize the life and performance of the 50cc Honda Ruckus.

Built not bought and to each their own.  That pretty much sums up Jerry's Ruck (@jerry_marine).

Jerry came to us a few months ago inquiring about our parts, we were able to point him in the right direction and we are amazed of the Ruckus creation he has poured countless hours over.

These days, top notch builds don't necessary mean having a deep wallet, but more so the time and attention you take to building it.  Jerry's ruck is a prime example of someone finding a passion and pursuing it by all means.  Back in 2017, Jerry discovered the world of the Honda Ruckus when he saw a few Rucks (probably ours...) while on vacation in...

An alternative to GY6 swapping a Honda Ruckus is doing a big bore kit on the stock Ruckus motor.  Though more rare to obtain parts, there have been 1 or 2 kits that have popped up over the years.  Be warned, a Honda Ruckus Big Bore is a very DIY mod and will require modification to your cylinder head and associated parts.

What are the benefits to big boring a Stock Ruckus GET motor as opposed to just swapping it out for a 150cc?  For one, you retain all of the bulletproof mechanics of the Ruckus motor (water-cooled, magnetic starter, magnetic water pump, simple valve train, etc) that makes the GET motor so reliable and effici...

Give me a brake...a Honda Ruckus Front Disc Brake that is.  One of the biggest mods you can do to your Honda Ruckus is a front disc brake kit.  The main benefit is stopping power but has the added benefit of looking cool and awesome!  There are many ways to do it.  The easiest is to purchase a NCY big brakes kit which includes everything you need plus a front wheel but it gets a little complex if you are looking for something a little bit more flashy or looking to piece together a kit.  The basic parts you will need are disc brake style front forks, brake caliper and corresponding caliper bracket, hydraulic brake line, brake mast...

A few months ago, we were approached by a local individual to breath life back into their Honda Ruckus.  We were not expecting what he dropped off....a Honda Ruckus full GY6 swap with a wooden trunk and full wooden floor boards dubbed the "Truckus".

This thing was a beast and a work of art.  It had a custom hibiscus painted battery box, reworked frame to included a trunk, wooden hands grips, a 180cc big bored GY6, and pretty much everything you could expect on a fully custom ruckus.  It had a slew of problems including a clogged up carb, dead battery, a blown starter, and a blown ring of two.  A full engine rebuild lat...

So we're going to try out this blogging thing.  Not to create loads of backlinks and positive SEO related mumbo jumbo that will surely skyrocket our site ranking to the top....but because it was about time we shared our stories and building adventures with the community of 50cc and honda ruckus afficionados.  I think we will start with 1-3 blog posts a week just to test the waters, and hopefully be able to progress to more.  This will also be a good experiment to see if we can chronicle the interesting and often times unique projects we end up doing or simply just to share a few tips that will aid you in your Honda Ruckus/50cc sc...
