Here is a little something different...we recently completed a rebuild of an Original California GoPed Sport. This was a little out of the norm as we usually stick to the Honda Ruckus but there was something nostalgic about working on and riding a GoPed scooter. It brought back memories of younger years when these GoPeds were all the rage around town and every kid wanted one. What made these little scooters popular was its compactness, speed, and simplicity. Nothing like ripping through town on a stand up scooter with a chainsaw motor bolted to the back wheel!

In classic Small Fast Things fashion, we had to give this little GoPed Sport all the bells and whistles...

This GoPed Sport was rebuilt from the ground up with Teal Metallic Powdercoated frame and parts done by East Coast Powder Pros.

The original deck was beat up and dry rotted, so we designed and custom cut a new birch plywood deck and added the original GoPed deck grip tap. Peep the Tach/Hour meter to help keep an eye on the motor and runtime.

This little beast rolls on 6" GoPed Mach 12 wheels. Lack of suspension makes this a bumpy and wild ride...

The 2 Stroke motor is the original G23LH motor that came standard on the GoPed Sport. We completely disassembled, cleaned, and rebuilt it and added a 25.4cc Big Bore and Walbro carb capable of pushing this thing to 25mph. It sounds and smells like a chainsaw too! The original motor was a direct spindle drive setup and the rear wheel would instantly spin the moment you fired up the motor. For ease of use, we added a ADA Racing Clutch Kit to allow for idling on the kickstand.

Of course we had to run a KN filter...

ADA Racing Parts were used as style and performance parts throughout the rest of the GoPed.

The small package of the GoPed did not allow for much personalization but we were able to add small touches here and there to give it a more custom feel. A GoPed T-Bar was used as upgraded controls with Vans handgrips and a Odyssey BMX front brake to help finish out the top side.
