Howto: Install a LED Light Bar on a Honda Ruckus

The iconic stock Honda Ruckus headlights are great and all but aren't usually the brightest and don't last as long as LED technology. The popular alternative is to run a LED light bar for a ultra bright and sleek headlight setup. We offer an all in one kit with the LED Light Bar Kit or the Roadrunner LED Headlight Kit. Both these Ruckus Headlight kits offer an easy bolt on upgrade for your Stock Honda Ruckus headlights. An added option is the LED Headlight plug and play harness that works with both our LED headlight kits. Below are instructions on how to install and setup a LED Light bar on a Honda Ruckus.

Recommended professional installation. Use and install at your own risk, LED headlight bars are not DOT approved and should be for off the road use only.

Step 1: Turn off your Honda Ruckus, remove the plastic battery box cover, discount the positive battery terminal

Step 2: Locate the 6 pin headlight connector on the left side of the wiring harness under the ECU (silver finned looking box).

Step 3: Unplug the 6 pin headlight connector (male end) and plug in the LED Headlight plug and play harness. The ring connector on the LED Headlight plug and play harness gets bolted into a frame ground. Find a suitable 6mm bolting location, remove the bolt, and bolt back on with the ring connector attached.

Step 4: On the other end of the LED Headlight plug and play harness, locate the 2 button quick connectors.

Step 5: Insert the negative and positive wires from the LED headlight bar into the button quick connectors on the LED Headlight plug and play harness. Black wire connects to the black or green, red wire connects to white wire.

Step 6: Use a pair of pliers to crimp the button on the button quick connectors to secure each wire.

Step 7: Reconnect the positive battery terminal on the ruckus, turn on the key, and test the LED headlight bar. Headlight bar should come on when the high beam is on. If it does not turn on, check to make sure all connections are tight.
